Minutes of Commission meeting held on June 23, 2009.
~
Present:  Mary vandenBerg, Chairperson, Marcia Beal, Patricia Caron, Howard Fife, Nathan Gumlaw and James Wettlaufer.

Chairperson called the meeting to order.

The Minutes of June 9, 2009 were read and accepted and will be distributed.

7:05 p.m.  Members signed:
1       - The Order of Conditions for the Highway Superintendent, Brian Johnson of the Town of Holland for the Sturbridge Road Drainage and Road Improvements project;
2       - The Determination of Applicability for Steven Thompson of 116 Wells Rd.

Member signatures were notarized by Kristin LaPlante, Notary Public.

Michael Lyman of 346 Mashapaug Rd. gave us a copy of his recorded Order of Conditions.

7:35 p.m.  The continued Public Hearing of a Notice of Intent for Trenton Carlson of 174 Mashapaug Rd., Map 10A-6.02, DEP File #184-0232 to construct a driveway for a single family home was held.  No abutters came.  Present were Attorney Kevin Sullivan, Trenton Carlson, Seth LaJoie of Seth L. LaJoie & Associates, Inc. and Brian Johnson, Highway Surveyor.  Seth LaJoie gave us a narrative regarding the Drainage Analysis written by Andrew R. Baum, P.E. and reviewed the new plot plan changing from a driveway to a parking area with steps leading to the house.  Following discussion, motion was made by James Wettlaufer and seconded by Mary vandenBerg that a continuation is necessary in order for the new plans and the Drainage Analysis narrative to be submitted to the DEP.  All were in favor of having the Public Hearing tentatively re-scheduled for July 14, 2009 at 7:30 p.m. if comments from the DEP have been received.

8:15 p.m.  Diane Coon of 197 Mashapaug Rd., Map R-28-A-4 showed us on her laptop, pictures of her deteriorating shoreline. Suggestions were given.  She also wanted 3 dead trees near the shoreline removed.
All were in favor of the project. Procedure Sheet #2009-Q was signed by Mary vandenBerg.

8:40 p.m.  David Buccelli of DB Tree requested the removal of a large birch tree for Doris Uhlig and Rita Benson of 33 Hamilton Dr.  All were in favor of the project.  Mary vandenBerg signed Procedure Sheet #2009-R.

8:45 p.m.  Daniel Mera of Oakridge Dr. had questions regarding the “right-of-way” in his area.  He was referred to the Assessors office.

The meeting was adjourned at 8:55 p.m.
